Employees have both a need and a right to know the hazards and identities of the chemicals they are exposed to during work.
Chemical manufacturers must:
  • Determine a chemical's hazards
  • Provide labels and MSDSs
Employers must:
  • Provide a hazard communication program
  • Maintain MSDSs
  • Train on hazardous materials
  • Read labels and MSDSs
  • Follow employer instructions and warnings
  • Identify hazards before starting a job
  • Participate in training
